Giving Tuesday celebrates good causes, by encouraging people to donate time, skills, or money towards them.
Our ultimate aim at Toiletries Amnesty is to make hygiene poverty a thing of the past, and there are loads of simple actions you can take as an individual, or with your friends, neighbours, colleagues and family, to help vulnerable people and organisations access toiletries and beauty products. Here’s four ways you can get involved with Giving Tuesday and support Toiletries Amnesty!
DONATE TOILETRIES AND COSMETICS YOU NO LONGER NEED
It doesn’t cost a penny to sort through your bathroom!
Things like hotel minis, that Buy One Get One Free offer you’ve never used, or unwanted presents can all do far more good in the hands of those in need than in the back of your bathroom cupboard!
Check the Toiletries Amnesty directory to find your nearest local charity or community group.
RAISE AWARENESS OF HYGIENE POVERTY WITH PEOPLE YOU KNOW
DONATE TO OUR FUNDRAISING APPEALS
However big or small your donation, you can help us tackle hygiene poverty by giving what you can financially.
We are volunteer-run, and receive no government funding, so to keep the directory running, continue our community outreach, and carry on helping those in need, we rely completely on donations from kind people like you.
Head to toiletriesamnesty.org/donate to spare what you can.
START A ‘ONE IN, ONE OUT’ POLICY FOR YOUR TOILETRIES AND COSMETICS
We can all do with a refresh as we head into the New Year, so why not reset your toiletry habits too? Every time you buy (or are gifted!) a new product, find an item in your cupboard that can be donated.
Save space, become more sustainable, and do some good for people and the planet.
Whatever you do this Giving Tuesday, thank you for thinking of others and spreading some kindness.
