We’re very pleased to be able to tell you that Toiletries Amnesty has been announced as a Regional Winner and National Finalist in the Barclays Entrepreneur Awards 2022!
We’re finalists for the Social Entrepreneur Award, which celebrates entrepreneurs whose companies have delivered transformative social or environmental change, and although the winners won’t be announced until November, we’re very happily celebrating the recognition as finalists.
‘As we head towards a winter with food and fuel poverty at the forefront of peoples minds we want to raise awareness of the hidden crisis of hygiene poverty and the negative impact it has on the health and well-being of people of all ages. It’s a real boost to receive this recognition for the work we do, much of which goes unseen, but mostly it’s an opportunity to be able to spread the word and start conversations with people who want to get involved and help put an end to hygiene poverty for good.’

The Social Entrepreneur Award is for those who are positively driving social and environmental change with their business. In 2021, we helped provide access to toiletries to over 2.25 million people, whilst diverting hundreds of thousands of products from landfill.
We work with homeless shelters and hostels, women and children’s refuges, mental health services, children and families centres, food banks, refugee support groups, NHS Trust services, schools and colleges, prison services, community groups, and other organisations who need our support. In the first quarter of 2022, Toiletries Amnesty helped to match over £500,000 worth of donated items to many organisations all over the world, with many more being processed as the year goes on.
